ULTRASOUND SCREENINGS
When is a breast ultrasound screening a good idea?
Ultrasound is a safe, radiation-free imaging tool that uses sound waves instead of radiation to visualize the structural details of the breast tissue. This provides us with an opportunity to take a proactive approach with our breast health. It can assist your doctor in evaluating causes of pain, swelling, a lump, or abnormal findings found by other tests such as a mammogram or thermogram.
If a lump is present in the breast, it can visualize whether it appears to be benign, such as a fluid-filled cyst, enlarged lymph node, fatty lipoma or fibroadenoma, or if it presents with more suspicious characteristics. Ultrasound gives you and your doctor more insight and confidence in deciding any next steps needed for your personalized health care.

All ultrasound services include:
-
Imaging session with an experienced Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
-
Interpretation by board-certified radiologists

Results shared directly with you and/or your doctor

Results are typically available within 1-2 weeks of your exam. This is a self-pay screening service, so a doctor's prescription/order for breast ultrasound is not required. You can utilize this service any time, as often as you'd like.
